by at 10.0. Wrote home tennis in afternoon went out to Roseland after tea and had an enjoyable time played tennis with Phil against May and Kath singles with Marj. Had some time with Marjorie in the garden getting things in she does seems so terribly fond of me it makes afraid I do fervently hope that that the fears I have my affection may be groundless. I I had a short talk with Mrs Edwards I asked her if I she should would let me write to Marjorie when I left she wanted to know if I really cared for her and assured her I did before we ought to going it to go get no further at present she umphatically agreed in that she told me she knew in the winter that M was very.

Sunday 22nd June 1913
Breakfast with Mrs Balaam's cousin from Chicago. She can talk. Church at 11.0 M. E was there Tea with Sprakes took some photos. walk afterwards. then I went onto Edwards to show them their River photos Mrs Edwards and M were at home. Miss Humphrey turned up soon afterwards and I helped water the garden. I then had some time with Marjorie alone and we wandered about. I didn't know what to say to her and she seemed awkward too. on Thursday I had told her how fond I had grown up her during the short time I had known her and she admitted a liking for me, I now want to tell her more. I took her into the hall and there I told her I loved her I could not speak coherently or clearly but I tried to explain to her that I thought we ought to wait until we had separated a while before we made any promises to each other she said she agreed but I was not sure she really did. I start to supper and we went for a walk afterwards the whole family but they soon turned back and left us to go on alone. We did and stopped by a gate where we had another long talk. I found things easier out there in the open are on such a splendid night and we cling together by the gate how stupid it has seems to write it all and now we are told each other of our love I told her how my affection had grown. how I had so often gone out of my way to meet and how I had majored in Sunday's best she might come to tea with Miss Humphrey. We talked and talked and works supremely happyat least I was and I think she was too. At last we turned homewards. I told her that I have spoken of my love rather than go away without saying anything and asked her if she was disappointed in me that I had not wished to find ourselves at once she said she agreed that we were better as we were by must ask her mother to let me keep in touch with her when she had gone. This I promise to do I took her back to her house but we found it very difficult part at last I'm arranged to have tea with her in Northampton the next day and she went in. I felt so happy she seemed to love me so much more that I felt I deserved and she seemed to take my plan so sensibly. I do hope that I am doing right I can't think that it would be wise to make a promise me as anything yet I don't really feel use of myself and yet it seems impossible that I will never cease to love her. She's it is all that a man can possibly desire beautiful figure and face with a soul behind it nothing foolish or frivolous and yet most refreshing sense of humour. Miss skillets until July yes the old Latin tag fits Spendidley. I felt satisfied that we had come to understand each other. We must part for all little while and as I told her we will soon know if our love has anything classing it or whether costs we are merely under the influence of passing infatuation, yet I know it will be very difficult to keep faithful to each other when we are apart.
